2023 MIWVE News & Events! Michigan Women Veterans Empowerment: Mission is to identify, connect, educate, advocate, support and empower all military veterans, service members, their family members and the youth in the 8 dimensions of wellness. Our Founder/CEO - Sgt. Stephanie J. Shannon was nominated and voted in as 1 of the 10 community women leaders out of 240 women nominated for the Women Who Shape the State Award. The 10 women community leaders were voted in as inspirational trailblazers that have gone above and beyond to make their communities a better place. The past 8 years Sgt. Shannon has remained faithful and diligent in voluntarily serving through MIWVE, she is worthy of this honor. She will be awarded at the 2023 Women's Summit on May 15, 2023 6 - 8:30 pm in Lansing, MI at the Crowne Plaza West Hotel Let's celebrate this well deserved award and join us at the 2023 Women's Summit. Beltline Ln NE Grand Rapids MI. MIWVE is partnering with the SE Market out of Grand Rapids MI. We are striving to bring farmers experienced, beginners or just curious in the West Michigan area for the purpose of building a strong agricultural community. There will be a 50/50 raffle, good food and opportunities to grow and thrive together in the field of Agriculture. Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 12 Noon to 2 pm for MIWVE's Veterans, Family & Friends Writers Workshop Event at the Walter Durkee - American Legion Post 311 in Grand Rapids MI. We are preparing for our next Veteran's Voices United Book Project to be released in 2023. Our Founder Author - Sgt. Stephanie Shannon is the Author of the Amazon Best-Selling Book "Battling the Storm Within" Battling the Storm Within and the Author of Our Voices United Women Veterans Anthology book vol 1, along with 9 other women veteran authors that share their stories within it. She will be our instructor for this event and will present the book project plan opportunity and provide professional hands-on story-writing instruction for those present and willing to participate in the 3rd book. The 3rd book will include short stories/poems from veterans of all eras, their families, and friends as well.  This is a great opportunity for those interested in being a published author and telling their story their truth and for family and friends who love their veteran and want to tell their stories through their own lens and life experiences as well. REGISTER HERE: MAY 6TH WRITERS WORKSHOP MIWVE is partnering with the Flint Public Schools - Team Nutrition USDA program to provide lifelong healthy food choices and physical activity. #TeamFlint MIWVE has launched our Boots on the Ground Movement in 2022. We have custom made hoodies and T-shirts available for purchase. Hoodies start at $ 40 - 60 dollars depending on upon size of hoodie and graphics on the back of it this includes children, youth and adult sizes.
